Re: Prohorovka/Lawrence

Congratulations to Chris for finally getting it done and out there. A huge effort and a great deal of persistence. It'll be the most expensive book I've ever bought. I'll savour reading it!

Re: The revamped IWM...

I haven't been since the revamp but I doubt it's just you. I visited the National Army Museum recently and found it to be barely a fraction of what it used to be years ago. I'm wary of visiting Bovington again in case I find similar 'improvements'....

No mention of which publisher. No word on price either lol. 1660 pages? I may have to wait for the nearest payday before buying!

I think it's amazing how QUICKLY they won it. An incredibly vast amount of things happened in a relatively extremely short time, on all sides.

Re: Prohorovka/Lawrence

A few days ago, Chris Lawrence posted this on the TDI forum: "Well, the Kursk book has gone to the printers. So everything is done and it is going to be released soon. I am hoping by 1 October. The book is 1660 pages. I don't have a word count, but it is bigger than War and Peace, except there ...

Re: Hermann Hoth's book to be published in English!

Great, will buy! It's one of those I've spent 10 years wondering why it hasn't been translated. Balck's book is another - I've just noticed it's out soon in English.

Well, with the time it has taken, it should really be a great book!

Re: Prohorovka/Lawrence

I first became aware of this work around 2001/2002. It's had a hell of a genesis. I hope it does actually appear sometime in the not too distant future.

Re: Do not read these books!

I also read this book a few years ago. As far as I'm aware, it remains the only book in English on Dietrich and I think it has value at least for this reason. No doubt it could be better but in the absence of anything else I thought it was definitely worth reading for anyone interested in the subject.

Hi Annelie! Just to continue the off-topic trend a bit further  - I don't know where Cohen 'started out' but he's English and I first saw him as a small part of a Channel 4 comedy show whose name I can't remember in '99, as the character 'Ali G'. He later appeared in a Madonna video as Ali G, ...

Sean Oliver and Qvist (and others!) - you've put a lot of effort into this thread and I just wanted to say I've enjoyed reading your posts. I wish there were more discussions like this on Feldgrau.
