Novels/Fictional books

Hi there,

can anyone suggest good fictional reading on WW2 to me? I´d love to find some more good researched and "realistic" novels, preferably from the German point of view. Your help is very much appreciated!

Re: "Soldaten" by Neitzel and Welzer

Neitzel is in my opinion not a reliable author and tries to paint everything German in an evil color. Forget him...

Heimatstandort(e) 268. Infanteriedivision

Hi,

so far I´ve found out that 268. ID where two of my relatives served was created in Munich/WK VII.

Does anyone know in which specific barracks (Kasernen) it was assembled and if it had other garrisions in Munich, too?

ty!!!

Hi,

I am looking for books on WW2 from the Japanese perspective, preferably personal accounts. Can anyone suggest good reading to me? So far I have only "Japanese Destroyer Captain".

Re: Searching for FP-Numbers

Thank you, but Christoph Awender has already solved the FPs on AHF. They belong to Artillery Regiment 268.

Searching for FP-Numbers

Hi,

I´ve found two different FP-Numbers on letters from my grand uncle. Can someone identify the units?

First one is either 95020 or 35020, second one is 34151/C.

Thank you for any help!

Greetings,
GJ

Wehrmacht Summer Uniforms

Hi there, I´ve got a little question. Yesterday I saw a documentary on German TV about the Campaign in the West 1940. A French veteran stated that the heat during most of that unusually hot spring was unbearable. He was jealous for the Germans in their "light" summer uniforms whilst the Fr...
