Luftflotte 2 November '41

In late November '41 Luftflotte 2 was transferred from Army Group Center in Russia to Italy. I presume that there were still air units supporting Army Group Center. So, my question is: What Luftwaffe units remained with Army Group Center in December 1941?
Thanks ....Jerry

Re: GM Carl Andre' DK Gold

Thanks for the reply Prosper. Colonel Andre' was in command of a captured Soviet armored train that participated in the capture of Kursk in November '41. I am trying to find out if that operation is why he received the DKiG. Any Idea where I can find that info? Jerry

Hst. Graetz was commander throughout. Was dissolved in May 1944. Not much!

Re: 6th Panzer Grenadier Regiment

The 7th Panzer Division, with PzGr Regiments 6 & 7 was on the Eastern Front during the time of Market Garden. The 9th SS Panzer Division was involved in Market Garden, however its SSPgR's were 19th & 20th.

Published author?

I have had several magazine articles published about the Eastern Front of WWII. Does that count?

Re: Feldgrau's Future

Why? You certainly have the right to resign but what's the difference whether Pipes participates or not?

Once again Raúl you are to be congratulated and thanked. Sometimes it seems that you alone are keeping the forum alive with postings that are thorough and interesting.

Thank you my friend!

Re: 2. Panzerarmee

I think it was simply a matter that the eastern front was shrinking, meaning that one Army HQ was not needed. So Pz.AOK 2 was shipped to the Balkans for anti partisan duty under command of Lother Rendulic (hardly a panzer commander). They took no panzer troops with them, so the move didn't effect A/...

Re: Hube's Pocket, the fighting pocket

Don't know of a book about it but there was a pretty good article about it called "Hube's Great Escape", in last May's (2014) edition of World at War magazine.

Hello Raúl,

Feldgrau would be a pretty boring place without you! You do a tremendous service with all the postings of yours. Thank you... and happy birthday my friend.

Re: May the shadow protect us with his great hart.

Yes indeed it is a sad day. John was a friend and contributor for a long time. I'm only sorry that he and I lost contact over the last couple of years.

Shadow, you will be missed by all who knew you and all who benefited from your insight.

Rest in Peace my friend.
