Re: Officers of 21.SS 'Skanderbeg'

Hello,

What is your source ?

I'm just finishing to read "La DIvision Skanderbeg" by Latruwe & Kostic published by Godefroy de Bouillon (in French)
I've seen nothing about a SS officer promotion to Mithat Frashëri and Xhafer Deva.

Patrick

REGIMENTSGRUPPE HANSMANN

Hello, Does someone have information on the order of battle and action of the "Regimentsgruppe Hansmann" during autumn 1944 . It was subordinate to the division "von Tettau" XII SS Armeekorps. Stubaf Otto Hansmann was recommended to the German Cross in Gold but not approved as re...

Re: SS-Obersturmbannführer Harry Polewacz

Hi, Here is what I guess. First, I think that it's really Harry Polewacz on the left but he is Stubaf and only the caption of the pic is wrong for the rank. The Staf could be Gottfried Klingemann the first Kommandeur of Nordland from September 20,1940 to December 1,1940. The Stubaf on the right coul...

Re: info about this photo

Hi, Two pics of this serie are in The book "Goetz von Berlichingen" Vol. 1 by Jean Claude Perrigault and Rolf Meister Heimdal 2004. The caption is: "Famous US photo summarizing the confrontation and the end of the German cracks units in the Roncey pocket. Here an officer with III/37 U...

Re: I need help to identify this LSSAH officer???

Hi, I must admit that the photo being announced like a photo of the LAH, I focused on the holders of the DKiG of this division. Thus I was was on a false trail... Really Spörle looks like our unidentified officer, but he never belonged to the LAH. He was awarded the German Cross in Gold on April 5, ...

Re: I need help to identify this LSSAH officer???

HI, After comparison with this photo of Emil WAWRZINEK, source http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=29859 I note that the right ear, the lips, the eyes and the shape of the face are very alike. One have to take account that the pic of Wawrzinek is darker than the one of the unindent...

Re: I need help to identify this LSSAH officer???

Hello, I doubt that he's Georg PREUSS because he has been awarded the Knight's Cross on February 5, 1945 as SS-Obersturmführer Führer 10.(gp.) SS-Pz.Gren.Rgt 2 „LSSAH“ and then the DKiG on April 20,.1945 with the rank of Haupsturmführer. There are a dozen of Obersturmführer awarded the DKiG in the L...
