After a long wait, I'm pleased to announce that Panzergrenadiers to the Front! will finally be published in a few weeks.
Here is a bit more about the book: http://blog.helion.co.uk/an-unprecedent ... d-war-two/

Re: New (possibly) Lage Ost Maps Discovered at NARA
Tom - In looking at the guide I have, Box 688 is titled "Murmansk May 1, 1944-May 26, 1944". Other than that, I'd try Boxes 564 & 565 "USSR Northern Front / Sep 17, 1939-Jul 29, 1942". Gary - Great question. These could be FHO produced maps of Soviet positions. It seems unlik...

New (possibly) Lage Ost Maps Discovered at NARA
Several days ago while I was at NARA scanning H.Gr. Weichsel maps I learned that thousands (yes thousands!) of German army group and army level daily situation maps spent the last 70+ years misfiled. These are not scans or transparencies but the original 6 foot hand drawn daily situation maps. They ...

Re: Feldgrau Author: Stephan Hamilton
Thank you for the continued interest in the series. Vol2 is written but still under final development with a publication date of February 2013. We have much work to do on the creation of maps and the CD of documents that will accompany the book. An updated book description should be up on the http:/...

Re: Feldgrau Author: Stephan Hamilton
The book is scheduled for a late fall 2012 release. I have delayed its release due to the vast amount of primary documents and other material I acquired, most of it unpublished, and requiring translation (over 23,000 pages of documents). The scope of the book increased dramatically and it will proba...

Re: 32 SS Division ,,30 Januar,,
I just finished building the ’30 Januar’ operational history for my Vol2 of the Oder Front 1945 series. I did not mention the Hungarian unit. Regarding the Hungarians, Tissier does mention a group of Hungarians (200/250 men) that were disarmed (as per Heinrici’s direction to disarm foreign soldiers ...

Re: Feldgrau Author: Stephan Hamilton
John - Bloody Streets won't see a second life in print or digital media, especially since I plan to reissue much of that material in a more comprehensive treatment of the topic. However, I am certainly curious about what the demand is for digital versions of military history books in general. . .esp...

Re: Feldgrau Author: Stephan Hamilton
Ron – I hope you enjoy Volume I. Regarding Bloody Streets , it will not be reprinted. I am pleasantly surprised at the continued demand for the book, but shocked at the going rate. However, much of the material and imagery in Bloody Streets will be corrected, updated and integrated with a significan...

Re: MS D-230 15th SS Ops in Pomerania
Tom - Thanks. Madog came to the same conclusion, but I thought I see if anyone else had an opinion. I'm still going to cross-check Carlise-Barracks and NARA b/c I believe that some of the Eastern Front material is still lying dormant in 'Special Collections' like where I locationed MS T-9.

Re: Panzer Division Müncheberg
Richard - I honestly don't remember seeing this in the Ryan Archives--I spent many long days culling through the material. I have copies of just about all of the Berlin accounts (minus the civilians) and if I found it, I would have used it in Bloody Streets . I have to agree with Ron (just his post ...

Re: Panthers to the front!
Harry, I plan to cross-check his account. I have already noted a few daily entries that do not seem to match the KTB (though, admittedly I have only given the KTB a cursory examination at this point). I’ll make sure I point out any inconsistencies in the final book. Interestingly, I have not found A...

Re: Panthers to the front!
For those who are interested in this book, the publication date will be pushed out, but for good reason. Instead of reprinting Bodenmüller’s original account, it will be added to a new divisional history of ‘Brandenburg’ during the period October 1944-May 1945 with a focus on the fighting in Poland,...

MS D-230 15th SS Ops in Pomerania
Anyone know if this only has one part, or if a Part II was also produced as indicated in the original document?
Thanks,
Stephan

Re: Feldgrau Author: Stephan Hamilton
Frederick-Thank you for the kind words! I am very pleased with the layout and we will keep it for the rest of the volumes in the series. To your other point, sourcing is key, and I have tried to source everything back to a primary or secondary source--I believe I ended up with well over 1,100 footno...

Re: Panthers to the front!
I./Pz.Rgt. 'Brandenburg' never fought with the division, but stayed with the Pz.Gren.Div. 'Kurmark Jan-Hendrik - Quite right. But, there was indeed a Pz.Rgt.'Brandenburg' assigned to the division. Sometime in April it became a regiment size Kampfgruppe Wietersheim , though I'm still looking to conf...
