Does anyone know where I could find out more info on units from Aschaffenburg? My Great Granpa was in the first world war and I think that he served in a unit from there. How did it work when you got called up to duty?

Does anyone know what battles or areas this unit fought in and around 1944-1945? Where can I find some maps?

I have an award document for a relative and and it says that he was inthe schlachterei kp 389. What is this? It is signed by the general major and divisions commander Kruse? There is a stamp with an eagle and I can only make out the number 389. Any help would be much appreciated.

I have recently gotten a document from the German government giving me ther whereabouts of my uncles death. They say that he died in Busowaja-Sacharowka/ Russland. I have a letter one day after his death from his commanding officer which states that he dies in Warwaroka 30 km eastwards of woltschans...
