In the first film clip I was the forward crew member of the JP when it fired. I was also part of the crew in the daily mock battles that weekend. However, despite wearing ear defenders (and headphones) my ears rang for days afterwards. The charge fired was in fact a 'black powder' charge, which is f...

I have one question to ask, and it relates to your photo no. 2. Where the uppers join the lower part of the boot at the front, is the 'thumb shaped' part of the boot overlapping the upper part of the boot, or is the upper overlapping the lower? I good indicator whether they are original, or repros o...

Re: Help for rank and uniform

Could somebody comment the picture below for what we can see? Ranks (and any other detail) would be fine.... http://homepage.mac.com/riosa/unif.jpg To me it looks like a political uniform as he doesn't have eppaulettes on the tunic. However, he appears to be of 'officer' status due to the belt, Wal...

It's basically the cross strap worn by The Fuhrer on his brown uniform, and by the pre-war SA and SS. I believe it was worn for parade purposes.

The LSSAH wore white cross-straps on their uniforms and the Allgemeine SS wore black ones.

Thank you very much for the advice.

I've been searching the net for info on the KB's but not much has been forthcoming. This info is needed for a forthcoming re-enactment impression and I wanted it to be as accurate as possible.

Again, thanks very much.

I might be a little late here, but the smocks were 'Burred edge' camoflage (spring side showing) and the uniform insignia was 'Das Reich.' The 'Tiger' tank was based on a postwar T55 chassis. The T34 chassis would have been too small to have reasonably depicted a Tiger Tank. This tank, however, has ...

Any of the examples cited would have been correct, but a Rottenfuhrer would have worn one when the commanding NCO of his zug would have been killed or wounded.

SS-Kriegsberichter uniforms.

Can anybody tell me what uniforms a Kriesgberichter wore, particularly SS ones? Did they have a special uniform or did they just wear a uniform identical to the unit that they were serving with, apart from the cuff title? Furthermore, did any women happen to serve with the KB's? Any info or photos w...
