Well, I guess some are too young to remember when Von Braun appeared on the Walt Disney TV shows in the 1950's. Von Braun would talk about space travel, etc. Even as a brilliant scientist he could talk at the level of understanding of children.

Excellent! I look forward to reading it. I trust you will mention the little altercation the 2nd Gir. had with the Russian armored cars near Lemberg. I certainly would like to see some maps of the Lemberg - Rawa Ruska area. From what I've read there were a host of German divisions in the area and it...

We visited there in 1994 as part of a Normandy tour. It was not planned but the American veterans on the bus made a ...

Excellent writeup.

A late business acquaintance of mine served with the 2nd FJD. He was captured at Brest by members of the 2nd Infantry Division (US).

Someday I hope to travel to Hamburg to talk to his grandchildren about the adventures of their grandfather.

One might find the book "With British Snipers to the Reich" by Captain C. Shore interesting. He wrote about his experiences from Normandy to the end of the war. Makes mention of German, Japanese, Russian and American snipers.
